Martin

I don't need your tongue to cut me (Roger Waters) -
Smell The Roses
There's a mad dog pulling at his chain
A hint of danger in his eyes
Alarm bells raging around his brain
And the chimneys poking in the sky
Wake up wake up and smell the roses
Close your eyes and pray this wind don't change
Because not much screams in the field of dreams
Nothing but hope at the end of the road
Nothing but gold in the chimney smoke
Come on honey it's real money
This is the room where they make the explosives
Where they put your name on the bomb
Here's where they bury the buts and the ifs
And scratch out words like right and wrong
Wake up, wake up and smell the phosphorus
This is the room we keep the human hair [oder heißt es "heir"?]
Don't ask don't tell it could mean a loss for us, yeah
A little less cash in the stash in the cupboard at the bottom of the stair,
Money, honey
Wake up, wake up and smell the bacon
Run your greasy fingers thru her hair
This is the life that you have taken
Just a line in the captains log
Just a whine from a resident dog
Another kid didnt make the grade
Come on honey, its a fair trade
Wake up wake up and smell the roses
Throw a photo on the funeral pyre, yeah
Now we can't forget the threat she poses?
Girl you know you couldn't get much higher
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't need your tongue to cut me (Roger Waters) -

-
Mal abwarten...bisher...naja..nix weltbewegendes.
Der Bass erinnert mich irgendwie an "Have A Cigar". -
Ein Pottpüree aus Altbekanntem. Naja.
-
Also mir gefällts bisher ziemlich gut
Zum Text:
Neccropole schrieb:
Leave that gold in the chimney smoke
Neccropole schrieb:
A little less cash
In the stash of the government stand (?)
'A little less cash
In the stash
In the cupboard at the bottom of the stair'
Neccropole schrieb:
Just a whine from a rancid dog (?)
'estray dog'? -
Cool! Danke @mastererni. Macht viel Sinn! Ich muss auch nochmal genauer hinhören. Hab's nur über YouTube gehört...Martin

Wobei 'not more' macht inhaltlich vielleicht eher Sinn ... keine Ahnung ... was denkt ihr? -

Wer weiss, wenn Roger nun auf Tournee geht "...and here to play it, is Mr. David Gilmour."

Smell The Roses...

Martin
